Derek Miles, MD, FACS, is a board certified urologist and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
After graduating from high school in Kansas City, Dr. Miles attended the prestigious accelerated combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After completion of medical school in 1994, he started his general surgery training at Barnes/Jewish Hospital at Washington University-St. Louis, followed by completion of urology residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2002.
His practice is a comprehensive general adult and pediatric urology practice. Most people associate a urology practice with treatment of kidney stones, prostate cancer and BPH, urinary tract infections and bladder problems. Urologists also treat erectile dysfunction with medical and surgical treatments, perform vasectomies and infertility counseling, bladder, testicular, kidney and male genital cancer and implant nerve stimulators (Interstim) for voiding problems. Dr. Miles' pediatric urology practice involves treatment of bed wetting and daytime wetting accidents, frequent urinary tract infections, neurologic voiding problems, surgical treatment for undescended testicles, circumcisions, and surgical repair of male and female hernia repair.
